We offer the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) accredited Diploma in Management and Leadership. We provide a blended learning approach which combines face to face workshops and distance learning, alongside individual support, guidance and practical experience throughout the duration of the course.

Our tutors are highly experienced and have applied the Management & Leadership skills covered in the course in the delivery of large-scale, complex and critical national programmes of work. The course is complemented by their ability to draw upon relevant and innovative examples from industry to guide learners through their qualification.

What is it?

The Level 5 Diploma consists of 8 modules listed below. Successful completion of all of the modules will result in award of the full Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership. Each module will be assessed through a written assignment.

502 – Principles of Developing, Managing and Leading Individuals and Teams to Achieve Success

509 – Managing Stakeholders

513 – Managing Projects to Achieve Results

514 – Managing Change

515 – Creating and delivering Operational Plans

520 – Managing Finance

525 – Using reflective Practice to Inform Personal and Professional Development.

Unlike other CMI Management & Leadership courses, we provide you with the opportunity to undertake a Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment to gain an insight into your personality type. Results will be used throughout the course to reveal how individuals can shape and adapt their individual behaviours, influence others effectively and build trust among colleagues.

How is it delivered?

The course is delivered through a blended learning approach with each unit comprising of two full day face-to-face sessions combined with dedicated remote support from your tutors for the remainder of the unit, resulting in completion of a unit assignment. To obtain the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership will take approximately 38 weeks.

Where is it?

The face-to-face training days are delivered at the Mansion House at the iconic Bletchley Park near Milton Keynes, followed by distance learning until unit completion.

Meet the Tutors

Jon Empson – Jon is a highly experienced team leader and mentor with particular skills in Business Enterprise and developing and managing strategic change delivery using technology enablers. Jon is able to articulate the strategy into a meaningful and effective delivery approach that enables an organisation to change under control to deliver improvements. He builds and leads teams that function effectively in the fast-moving complex digital change environment.

Dr Amanat Hussain – Amanat has worked in strategic leadership roles for a number of years and has a proven track record of delivering large, complex digital transformation programmes.  He effectively mobilises diverse stakeholders across multi-cultural boundaries to deliver in challenging, complex and dynamic environments.  He has delivered digital transformation programmes in a range of markets including defence, finance and public safety.  As well as delivering our CMI courses and working as our Executive Chairman, Amanat lectures in graduate and postgraduate courses on Strategy, Organisational Development and Change Management as well as acting as a supervisor for PhD students.

Pete Pickering – Pete has 30 years’ experience in management disciplines and techniques on a broad range of military and civil programmes and functional areas, Pete is extremely knowledgeable in the implementation of management capabilities to satisfy statutory, company and customer requirements. Pete’s main skills are leadership and management, capture and programme management, bid and proposal composure, training and development, system engineering, integration and test and customer engagement.
